Erling Braut Haaland scored with an amazing lob, while his two-goal transport helped Borussia Dortmund retain third place with a 4-2 home win over Union Berlin, over Bayern and Wolfsburg. Haaland, 21, took the ball over Union’s goalkeeper from the edge of the box in seven minutes’ time to see Union struggle with a goal in the second half of the football match.
Union striker Taiwo Awoniyi had the ball in the net after 40 seconds, but Dortmund scored three unanswered goals. Raphael Guerreiro put Dortmund ahead with an amazing opening volley at Signal Iduna Park before Haaland led the way.
Union suffered a 3–0 defeat at the start of the second half when their defender Marvin Friedrich under pressure from Haaland converted the ball into his own goal. However, Union was awarded a penalty by German striker Max Kruse before his replacement, Andreas Voglsammer, returned the guests into the game in the ninth minute.
Haaland solved the problem when he saw union goalkeeper Andreas Luthe on his line and threw himself all the way to hit the ball into the net. Also, Haaland has scored 11 goals for Dortmund this season, including seven in five league appearances, after scoring a hat-trick in the German Cup this season and securing a Champions League victory at the Basitkas on Wednesday, making him a common top scorer. “The Erling is simply a target hunting machine. When he sees an opportunity to put the ball into the net, his eyes light up and the fire burns. I was very happy until 3-0, then I let an opponent back into the game which ended,” Dortmund defender Matt Hummels told DAZN.
