The job of head coach Julian Nagelsmann has come under scrutiny after Bayern Munich did not win their last four Bundesliga games.
Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has backed head coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Despite going four games without a win in the Bundesliga for the first time since the 2001–02 campaign for the German champions.
Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Augsburg was Bayern’s first campaign loss.
But then came three domestic draws with Stuttgart, Union Berlin, and Borussia Monchengladbach.
Bayern did defeat Inter and Barcelona in their opening two games in the Champions League group stage (both 2-0).
But strangely, they sit fifth in the Bundesliga after seven games.
The club’s chief executive Oliver Kahn had already provided his backing to Nagelsmann, saying on Sunday:
“We always have the strength to get back to the front, where we belong, to the top of the table.”
On Monday, Herbert Hainer added to that support, telling TZ:
“Four Bundesliga games without a win at Bayern is not what our fans and all of us imagine.
“We see the multitude of goal chances our team creates in every match.
“And that is currently not a reflection in our results.
“We are completely convinced of Julian Nagelsmann and our entire team.”
Including the end of last season, Bayern Munich has only won three of their last 10 Bundesliga games (D5 L2).
However, their last three games of the 2021–22 season occurred after they had already locked up a 10th consecutive championship.
Despite that, Herbert Hainer added:
“After the international break, we will attack again, as we know from FC Bayern.
“The season has just started, and we know we have the potential to achieve our big goals.”
In my opinion, Bayern Munich is going through a transition as they have changed their key players in attack.
And they will successfully adapt Julian Nagelsmaan’s tactics.
