Manchester United offered €65 million deal to Real Madrid. Federico Valverde, a standout for Real Madrid, is the subject of a rumored proposal from Manchester United. To strengthen their midfield, the Red Devils hope to sign the Uruguayan international in the summer. According to a report in El Nacional, Manchester United has made Real Madrid a bid for Valverde. Since the 2022 FIFA World Cup break, the midfielder’s performance has declined, and the Red Devils are willing to pay €65 million for him.
According to the Spanish newspaper, Erik ten Hag’s team wants to sign a contract with Los Blancos by taking advantage of the team’s decline in performance. Additionally, they think the Spanish side might be willing to sell him since they want to raise money for Jude Bellingham. Since his debut in 2018, Valverde has made 180 appearances for Real Madrid in various competitions, with 15 goals and 12 assists.
Liverpool sought to sign Valverde last summer, but Real Madrid turned down their offer. Carlo Ancelotti reportedly rejected a $100 million offer from the Reds because he wanted to keep the midfielder.
Since the FIFA World Cup, Federico Valverde has acknowledged that his performance has dipped. He went on to express how much it had affected him not to win the championship in Qatar. He hasn’t scored or provided an assist in La Liga since it restarted following the break.
When addressing the media, he said: “I felt the World Cup’s impact. When you pursue an objective, you have the delusion and optimism that everything will work out for your nation. You pursue the goal with the dream of a child who stands in for millions of people by attempting to go as far as they can and competing to win. You feel unhappy because you can’t do it. It saddens that all we have worked on seems to have been useless.”
Valverde acknowledged that he was struggling to perform at his peak and stated: “In football, good things don’t always happen, therefore you need to know how to deal with that. Although my performance has changed since I first arrived, it still belongs to football.”
This season, Valverde has played a variety of roles for Madrid, primarily as a right winger. Regarding his preferred spot on the field, he said: “My perfect circumstance? I have to speak gently since the coach is paying attention (laughs). I’ve always enjoyed playing midfield since that’s where I feel most at home, but I enjoyed playing football more as a winger.”
