Enzo Fernandez of Chelsea praises two superstars from Real Madrid. UEFA Champions League Round of 16 Second Leg: Chelsea FC vs. Borussia Dortmund
Before their UEFA Champions League match, Real Madrid midfielders Toni Kroos and Luka Modric received compliments from Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
The quarterfinal first-leg matchup between the Blues and Carlo Ancelotti’s team will take place in Spain on April 12 at the Santiago Bernabeu. Given that both teams presently boast some of the top players in football, the competition should be fiercely contested.
In the past three years, Chelsea has faced Real Madrid three times in the competition, with each team winning one of those games.
The midfield department will be fiercely disputed by both teams during the game on Wednesday.
Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, two Los Blancos stalwarts, were lauded and described as “examples” by Blues midfielder Fernandez. “Modric and Kroos have won a lot and are an example for everyone,” Fernandez remarked.
Due to their consistency and contributions to the game throughout the years, Modric and Kroos are recognized as two of the best midfielders of all time. For Ancelotti’s club, both will be hoping to start in midfield against their English opponents in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal.
Frank Lampard, the head coach of Chelsea, respected Real Madrid ahead of their crucial UEFA Champions League match on Wednesday, April 12.
After Graham Potter and Thomas Tuchel were fired as the Blues’ managers this season, Frank Lampard will be the third.
Lampard expressed his appreciation for the Los Blancos trio of Karim Benzema, Kroos, and Modric when discussing Real Madrid. The English tactician noticed their durability for the Spanish giants right away.
“To name one player is a difficult question to ask me,” remarked Lampard. I have a great deal of respect for the team, but the players with the most enduring careers are those who have contributed most to the club’s success. Kroos, Modric, and Benzema. I have a lot of admiration for them for understanding what it takes to lead the group and for doing so.
“We have to work against it and be clear about those threats and the repetitive areas of the pitch,” the 44-year-old stated. It is something that the players must be aware of and cope with.
Speaking further, Lampard predicted that Real Madrid will win the match before they faced Chelsea. Pressure on both teams because of the size of both clubs, he claimed. Are favorites Real Madrid? Yes. Football and trying to disprove people are the best rewards.
