Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane remains confident he is the best man for the job in the Spanish capital, after Wednesday’s loss.
Zinedine Zidane believes he will arrest Real Madrid’s form slump and restore order in the midst of rising scrutiny after the club’s shock Champions League loss to Shakhtar Donetsk.
Madrid suffered back-to-back home defeats in all competitions under head coach Zidane for the first time, having been stunned 1-0 at the weekend by newly promoted Cadiz in LaLiga, after Wednesday’s 3-2 loss to visiting Shakhtar in their Group B opener.
“I see myself capable of fixing this, that’s what I’m going to try,” Zidane, whose Madrid were eliminated in the Champions League last 16 in 2019-20, said in his post-match interview claim Goal. “And the players are going to try, too.”
“We are going to look for the solution and we’re going to find it. Now we have to prepare for Saturday’s game [away to Barcelona].”
