Edinson Cavani “hasn’t ticked all the buttons”, with the successful striker struggling to “live on memory” when it comes to making a debut with the Red Devils, says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The United manager told the club’s official website after taking the decision to keep Cavani out of a Champions League opener that would have seen him reunited with PSG.
“He is naturally fit. He is fit enough, but he wants to play football to be in all kinds of conditions like the rest of the team.”
“You can’t survive in the past, of course, actually, because it’s been a while.”
“He’s professional, very systematic, and he knows what he needs and what he desires. He didn’t tick all the boxes until he was available to play.”
