Lazio head coach Simone Inzaghi has spoken out on the 0-2 defeat to Bologna in Serie A.
“A team as ambitious and strong as ours should react differently to missed goals. It can happen that you concede a penalty and immediately lose. I thought we had the right approach, we dominated the game, but we are talking about a painful defeat here,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“Ironically, of the last four games against Bologna, this was the one in which we struggled the least but lost 2-0. We need to be more determined in front of goal, get back on our feet in the midweek match against Torino, and I don’t want any excuses about fatigue in the Champions League.”
“To be honest, I am concerned about our lack of response to the negatives. I am disappointed with Lazio’s performance. Yes, we haven’t had much luck in the last couple of games, but a team as strong and ambitious as ours should react differently.”
“Objectively, these two defeats have hurt us and the team needs to get back to winning ways to put that behind them.”
