Nelson Semedo shared his wish to return to Benfica.
Nelson Semedo is all set to depart Camp Nou, he has joined Barcelona in 2017 from the Portuguese club.
The right-back is now on sale this summer as the talks to extend his current contract past its 2022 expiry date have recently broken down.
The 26-year-old wants to go back to a familiar environment, even though clubs across Europe have attracted their attention to him.
Semedo told Benfica’s club media, “I’d like to return to a time where I could give everything and help the team, not only to earn money like other people.”
“It was indescribable,” he said.
“Being champions with the club of your heart is a great satisfaction.
“It’s a dream come true. It was spectacular.”
“[Benfica] gave us good values as players and as men.”
Nelson won two Primeira Liga titles as well as other major trophies, during his time with Benfica.
It doesn’t seem like Semedo is going back to Benfica any time soon, as he is one of those who could be used to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter in a deal.
