Sinisa Mihajlovic has said it was a ‘source of great pride’ after becoming an honorary citizen of Bologna.
The coach from Felsinei has helped Bologna sit 11th in Series A with two remaining games and as they face Fiorentina and Torino in their last two games of this campaign, have a great chance to climb into the top half.
To the Rossoblu it has been a tough season. He originally went through turbulent times and had to cope with months without their coach.
Mihajlovic was diagnosed with leukemia on July 11 and has been in and out of hospital after a bone marrow transplant followed by multiple chemotherapy courses.
The Serbian, who is already a Novi Sad honorary citizen, was honored by the municipality and told the official website of the club: “Becoming a Bologna honorary citizen is a great source of pride.”
“This is the second citizenship I earn after Novi Sad, but it is a great privilege for me, Serbian, to become an Italian town resident.”
“Bologna is a community of excellence, a university city, and one of Italy’s most beautiful. I strive to set a good example at all times and respect the name of Bologna.”
