Paris Saint-Germain director Leonardo Araújo has encouraged Real Madrid to take a break from their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe. He has also accused the Spanish club of lacking respect. In the latest football news, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez recently indicated that he expects a definite finish to the issue on January 1, 2022, when he aims to revive his interest in Mbappe after Mbappe made public his desire to leave PSG for Real in the summer.
Now that the transfer window has closed Leonardo begged Real to show some respect and he was offended too with the comments. In a conversation with L’Equipe, he told, “This latest outing is just a continuation of the lack of respect shown towards PSG and towards Kylian. In the same week, we’ve had a Real Madrid player (Karim Benzema), then the Real Madrid coach (Carlo Ancelotti) and now the Real Madrid president talk about Kylian as if he is already one of them.”
“Florentino Perez has already spoken about Kylian to Madrid supporters earlier in the week. It’s a lack of respect that cannot be tolerated. This has been going on for two years. Just remember that the transfer window is over, that a season is underway. There are matches to be played and Real Madrid cannot continue to behave in this way. Make it stop!”
“Kylian is a Paris Saint-Germain player and the club fully understands that this relationship will last.” Mbappe added some light to the news by confessing that he sought to leave PSG for Real Madrid this summer and was unhappy by the unwillingness of Leonardo to authorize a transaction, despite the player’s threat of leaving as a free agent the next year.
