Eden Hazard apologized on Thursday after his former Chelsea team showed smiling pictures of him after Real Madrid leaving the Champions League. Following a 2–0 defeat at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, Belgian striker Hazard was sent pictures chatting happily with his teammates, which beat Madrid 3–1.
The Blues advanced to the final of the tournament, where they will face Manchester City, after winning 3-1 on aggregate. Eden Hazard, a former Chelsea winger, started the game, but it seemed as though he wasn’t even there because some of his former teammates did an excellent job of keeping him quiet.
He was seen congratulating and laughing with some of his former teammates at the end of the game, according to a CBS sport tweet. This angered the Spanish media, especially El Chiringuito TV!. Strong words from them and one of their reporters has even gone as far as to claim that Hazard is now on the transfer market.
Eden Hazard apologized
Real Madrid midfielder Eden Hazard has apologized to the fans of the Madrid club.
“I apologize. I read a lot of opinions about me today, I had no intention of offending the Real Madrid fans,” the player wrote in an Instagram post.
“It has always been my dream to play for Real Madrid and I came here to win. The season is not over yet, together we must fight for La Liga! Hala Madrid!”
The Belgian, who played for the Londoners from 2012 to 2019, went to Kurt Zouma and Edouard Mendy, hugged them, and chatted with a laugh, after his Real Madrid’s exit from the Champions League.
Hazard joined the 13-time European champion from Chelsea in 2019 for a record club fee of 115 million euros ($ 138 million), but played only 40 games due to fitness issues. On Sunday, Madrid, which follows the leaders of La Liga, Atlético Madrid, with two points, with four games remaining in the campaign, hosts Sevilla, the team with slim title ambitions.
