Violating lockdown rules led Andre Gray to be dropped on the weekend so the Watford forward apologized.
After reports indicated that the forward, who recently turned 29 hosted a birthday bash at his home, along with his teammates Nathaniel Chalobah and Domingos Quina was omitted for the Premier League defeat against Southampton on Sunday.
The forward wrote on his Instagram: “I wanted to wait to make [a] public apology as my first apology needed first to be to my teammates and staff for not being able to participate in yesterday’s game and the risk that I might have caused!”
“I just want to reiterate that it wasn’t a late-night party like what’s being portrayed and only a gathering of friends that turned my birthday into a kind of football tournament! I understand my responsibilities and I will do whatever it takes to get it right, excuse me again!
