Chelsea to make a £15m offer to Brazilian club. According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea has reportedly launched a bid to recruit Brazilian wonderkid Angelo Gabriel from Santos.
According to Romano, Chelsea has made an offer of £15 million to lure Angelo Gabriel to Stamford Bridge in 2024. The transfer specialist added that the conversations are serious.
Due to his sudden appearance on the Santos scene, Angelo has become a player in high demand. He has already played 129 times for the Brazilian giants at the age of 18. He’s been compared to Brazilian legend Neymar, who also rose through the Black and White youth divisions.
Express Sport claims that Barcelona was considering signing the young prodigy but decided against it.
Barcelona has been keeping tabs on Angelo for a long, and in January they were granted the right to first refusal and the preference acquisition option. They chose against exercising the option because of their financial circumstances, though.
According to Bolavip’s sources, Santos is reportedly having financial difficulties and is hence willing to sell its prized asset for a lower price.
Although he prefers to play on the right side, Angelo may also be used on the left flank. He has played 129 times for Santos so far, scoring five goals and dishing out 10 assists.
Angelo has also competed for Brazil at the youth level between the ages of 15 and 20. He could end up being a valuable addition to Chelsea for under £15 million.
The Blues have already been highly active in the transfer market, having paid £52 million to get Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig. They also paid £17.27 million to Independiente del Valle for the wunderkind from Ecuador, Kendry Paez.
In the current transfer window, west London allowed Kalidou Koulibaly and N’Golo Kante to depart to Saudi Arabia, and they are currently considering letting Kai Havertz and Mason Mount go as well.
Mauricio Pochettino is urged by Frank Leboeuf to take decisive action on the future of a Chelsea star:
Former Chelsea manager Frank Leboeuf has pushed Mauricio Pochettino to decide on Mason Mount, who is a target for Manchester United. With only one year left on his deal, the Englishman has been frequently mentioned in connection with a move to Old Trafford.
Mount is believed to be anxious to join Manchester United and has rejected the Blues’ attempts to negotiate an extension. Leboeuf has urged Mauricio Pochettino, the recently appointed Chelsea manager, to address the matter as soon as possible.
The Frenchman said (via Chelsea-News): “Do everything you can to keep [Mason Mount] if he wants to stay. If you want him, give him the money he deserves, just like with Reece James.”
He added: “However, the team ought to say, ‘We want you to stay because we love you and think you’re a good player. You can expect anything you desire from us. We’ll sell you if you don’t want to play for us any longer. Mauricio Pochettino needs to put his foot down and say, “No, I don’t want Mount to leave. The club should be clear on this.”
Mount has lived his entire life as a Blue after rising through the Stamford Bridge junior system. The two-time Chelsea ‘Player of the Year’ has made 195 appearances for the West London club, tallying 33 goals and providing 37 assists.
