Owing to the financial consequences of the coronavirus pandemic the current transfer window would be a “different world,” said Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
As compared to the previous year the summer transfer market is going to be different this year due to coronavirus, as somewhere season is being completely canceled, while teams across Europe are suffering financial losses owing to playing games without supporters.
While teams seek to boost their teams cheaply, transfers of free agents and trade transactions are predicted to acquire popularity and big investment is likely to be curtailed.
Including Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho, for a number of stars Solskjaer saw his team linked with deals of huge money but he stated he was unsure how the game will be performing in the face of so much uncertainty.
Solskjaer told Sky Sports, “We’re still trying to strengthen the team.”
“The chaos in the world today, nobody knows how sport and the economy would be so I’m very pleased with the group I’ve received.”
“The landscape now is different than when it was two months before. We have to change, evolve, there are teams out there who are suffering financially more than anyone. It’s a modern environment, so I believe that this summer’s transfer market would be completely different than what everyone assumed it will be.”
Despite the endless search for replacements on his team, Solskjaer suggested he would not actually be unhappy if the likes of Sancho or Grealish were not brought in due to the amount of talent already accessible to him.
“This season, I think Mason [Greenwood], Anthony [Martial] and Marcus [Rashford] were great, scored up to 50 goals between them.” the Norwegian said.
“Marcus got his fracture, even Anthony on the path for his best season, and Mason is of course just a special talent with his goal-scoring skill.”
