Inter can win this term for the Coppa Italia, claims former hero Wesley Sneijder but admits the Scudetto is already out of reach.
With one game in hand and 13 remaining to finish the current campaign, the Nerazzurri are sitting nine points behind Juventus League leaders.
On Saturday, Inter returns to action against Napoli, aiming to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat from the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals.
Sneijder feels that Inter will turn the game around and hopes to see his former side win the Cup, but he doesn’t feel the Milan outfit should claim this term as the top spot in Serie A.
“I hope Inter will advance and win the Cup,” he told Il Mattino. “I think the time to win has arrived.”
“There’s very little to do [in Serie A]. Juventus continue as clear favorites to win the title. They have the best team and develop every season.”
“You think their run is over but they manage to bring in new players who make the difference and find the right incentives to continue winning.”
