Bosnia and Herzegovina police arrested Champions League referee Slavko Vincic for his supposed involvement in a ring of prostitution and drugs.
Vincic was arrested in a cabin in Bijeljina where the authorities found nine women, 26 men, and a weapon cache and cocaine, Croatian daily 24Sata informs. He took charge of the match between Genk and Liverpool in this season’s European elite competition as well as two further Champions League games and one in the Europa League.
Tijana Maksimovic, who is believed to be the leader of the prostitution ring. He was imprisoned alongside Tijana. Maksimovic was detained while trying to cross the Croatian border in a boat that was carrying three women as well.
While he is accused of being one of the 26 people reportedly caught with drugs and illegal weapons, it is claimed that Vincic is not personally involved in the case.
