To earn a place in the Champions League next season, Seville remained firmly on course after two quickfire goals on Thursday gave them a 2-1 comeback win at Athletic Bilbao in La Liga.
With three games remaining the result left Seville fourth out of 35 games on 63 points, six more than fifth-placed Villarreal. After a blow to their hopes of clinching a Europa League berth, Bilbao remained ninth on 48 points.
Midfielder Ever Banega inspired Seville’s fightback after dropping back in the first half to an Ander Capa goal, equalizing in the 69th minute before setting up four minutes later Munir El Haddadi’s winner.
Substitute El Haddadi turned the match on its head, shortly after coming on, heading home from close range after Banega whipped in a perfect inswing cross from the right.
While Bilbao is going on a visit to Levante on Sunday, 12th, Mallorca that is threatened by relegation will host Sevilla.
