Manchester United center-back, Chris Smalling may also spend the campaign 2020-21 on loan with Roma, according to the news.
The 30-year-old joined Roma on loan last summer in the 2019-20 season making 28 appearances in all competitions and inspired the Italian outfit.
The Serie A giants have said they want to sign the Englishman on a permanent contract on a number of occasions, but it is known that they will fail to agree to an agreement with United.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Smalling is likely to have its current loan contract extended to continue with Paulo Fonseca’s side for the rest of the 2019-20 season.
However, the former non-league defender will also spend the next term with Roma, ensuring once again that the Italian side would cover his wages, states the source.
Smalling’s contract is set to run until the summer of 2022, at Old Trafford.
