Manchester United was told to recruit Idrissa Gueye, by Wayne Rooney a month after rejoining Everton, he announced.
Senegal international has enough talent to represent United, who have been associated with the player on many occasions, convinced Rooney, however he struggled to persuade his former club to make an offer for services of Gueye.
In his latest column for The Times, the Red Devils hero wrote: “Everyone is thinking about his tackling and strength but what amazed me was his consistency on the field — he was just looking forward to taking it to the feet.”
“I spoke to people at Manchester United after a month of playing with him saying he was good enough for them. I wasn’t impressed that Paris Saint-Germain signed him.”
