Ravel Morrison is a better player than Paul Pogba, revealed Wayne Rooney about his days at Manchester United Academy.
Already accumulating 11 clubs by the age of 27, Morrison has broken down to make the transition to professional ranks, While Pogba has pushed on into one of the world’s biggest football stars.
When they tried to break into the first team of the United, Rooney, claimed that the playmaker had more potential than Pogba and Jesse Lingard.
“I remember watching Ravel Morrison thinking he had everything he needed for a player in his position. In one training game, he nutmegged Nemanja Vidic three times within a minute, said Rooney Speaking to The Times.
He added: “But he struggled with lifestyle and his environment which was sad for him because I saw Paul Pogba coming through, Jesse Lingard, all these players, and Ravel were better than any of them in a country mile.”
“He’s proof that you can’t escape the fact that there are guidelines every player has to obey in professional football.”
In the EFL Cup Morrison made only three substitute appearances for United.
