In the Premier League to take a knee in solidarity of Black Lives Matter in the global reaction to George Floyd’s killing, Sanjay Bhandari called for all teams.
Bhandari said to Goal: “I wonder if it would be the thing I’d encourage if players were to protest. Can anyone do that if you score a goal, and then take a knee? But not only black players, white too, everyone.”
“Every player should do it. It should be team doing it. After the first game back, when all of the Borussia Dortmund players performed the social-distancing celebration, you saw the Erling Haaland feast. They could all take a knee.”
“Racism is not about brown supporters or black players. It is just about us. Racism corrodes culture and is affecting us all. All would want to express their solidarity and their disgust.”
