RB Leipzig confirmed that Captain Yussuf Poulsen has sustained ligament damage in his right ankle to keep him out of action.
20 minutes before moving on to score one goal and set up two more during Sunday’s 5-0 rout of Mainz’s opening Poulsen suffered the injury.
While being able to play against Mainz, it was reported that he is having a sidelines spell in the reports of Denmark international scan which was conducted on Monday.
“In the match against Mainz 05 our forward Yussuf Poulsen suffered a ligament fracture in his right ankle.” a statement on the club’s official website read.
“As a consequence of Monday’s check he’ll be out before further notice.”
