On Thursday against Southampton, Gabriel Martinelli won’t be playing announced Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta, the striker will be out with a knee injury for “months”.
In the left knee, Martinelli suffered a knock, a minor cartilage injury on Sunday during training, and in next few days, the Brazilian is set to go through more testing.
Arteta said in a press conference on Tuesday: “We had some really bad news in training again yesterday. Martinelli got hit by another player during the last action and he damaged his knee.”
“The doctors are analyzing the extent of the injury but it doesn’t look good at all.”
Arteta said when asked how long the forward will not be available: “We don’t know, but it looks like for months.”
