Manchester United missed an opportunity to leapfrog Chelsea and Leicester into places for the Champions League, after a dramatic draw against Southampton.
Following an early Stuart Armstrong shot, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial turned the tables and looked to have secured it for United but Michael Obafemi’s injury-time header denied Ole’s men a vital three-point.
Manchester United missed the chance to third after Michael Obafemi equalized for Southampton in the 95th minute.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side went into the fight on a fine streak of 17 unbeaten matches and five consecutive victories.
But when the sub popped up to poke home a corner to hold United fourth, they were stunned to death.
When a Paul Pogba mistake led Stuart Armstrong to fire the visitors ahead, Old Trafford got through early doors of a surprise.
However, the in-form Red Devils easily bounced back in, through Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
The England striker first scored on 20 minutes before just three minutes later the Frenchman flipped the scoreline over his head.
And they were looking at the course to claim the points until the dramatic end.
