Liverpool looking forward to signing a Portuguese defender. This summer, Jurgen Klopp wants to expand his center-back roster. Before the upcoming 2023–24 season, Liverpool is reportedly eager to sign Sporting CP player Goncalo Inacio.
Since making his debut for his hometown club in 2020, Inacio, 21, has established himself as one of the top center-backs in the Primeira Liga. He has so far assisted Sporting in winning four trophies, including the domestic championship for 2020–21.
Todofichajes claims that Liverpool is in a strong position to sign Inacio during the forthcoming summer transfer season. The left-footed defender has wowed them with his ball-handling skills and elite potential.
The Merseyside team, though, is unlikely to have an easy time during the Portugal international. The player has been named as Inter Milan’s replacement for Milan Skriniar, who will likely soon join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Inacio, who is under contract with the Jose Alvalade Stadium through June 2026, would be the perfect complement to Liverpool’s team. At their backline, he would offer Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate, and Virgil van Dijk some solid competition.
Inacio has played 121 games with Sporting CP in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and assisting eight others. Along with Inacio, Antonio Silva, Levi Colwill, Marc Guehi, and Nayef Aguerd have all been connected to the Reds.
Liverpool should sign the Newcastle United midfielder, according to Dietmar Hamann:
Dietmar Hamann, a former Liverpool player, has pushed the Reds to sign midfielder Joelinton from Newcastle United. Hamann spoke to the news about the summer’s prospective objectives for his former team.
“I’d like a player with a physical presence like Newcastle’s Joelinton. All of Liverpool’s players are quite similar to one another. Even though the size isn’t everything, when you stand in the tunnel and see these footballers, you can’t help but say, “Wow!” They are not only big, but they can also play.”
Hamann continued to compliment the former player for Rapid Vienna and 1899 Hoffenheim: “I’d like a guy of Joelinton’s size, who can score goals, is strong and skilled with the ball. With only one midfielder behind him, he is merely an all-around player with few defensive duties. The Reds would benefit greatly from having a player with the Brazilian’s physical presence in the upcoming campaign.”
Joelinton, 26, has played a significant role in helping the Magpies finish in the top four of the Premier League during the current 2022–23 season. In 40 games for his club so far, he has tallied eight goals and three assists in all competitions.
