Liverpool joins the race with Barcelona to sign Ruben Neves. According to reports, Liverpool is seriously interested in acquiring Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer. Neve is a target for Barcelona.
Neves, 26, has reportedly stated his intention to quit Molineaux in the summer, according to Football Insider. On Sunday (May 20), after Wolves’ 1-1 draw with Everton, he received an emotional lap of honor.
The Portuguese midfielder has been linked to Barcelona for numerous transfer windows, making them the favorite to sign him. According to rumors made in Spanish media, the Blaugrana would consider using Ansu Fati as a partial trade for Neves. He allegedly already reached a personal agreement with Xavi’s team.
But Liverpool is ready to step in if Barca is unable to complete a deal for Neves. The Catalan giants must cut €200 million from their pay cost to avoid more financial difficulties. Wolves supposedly only want money for their midfielder, which gives Jurgen Klopp’s team more room to maneuver.
According to reports, the Merseysiders asked about Neves during the January transfer window. The Portuguese’s skill with the ball is admired by the Anfield recruiting staff. In 40 appearances in various tournaments, he has six goals and one assist to his credit.
The Wolves have Neves under contract until 2024. He has an agency with the Liverpool quartet of Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and Fabinho.
Roberto Firmino of Liverpool is eager to join Barcelona:
Roberto Firmino has decided to quit Liverpool when his contract expires in the summer. Since arriving at Anfield in 2015, the Brazilian frontman has established himself as a club icon.
Due to his status as a free agent, the Reds forward has been associated with several teams. Due to their financial problems, Barcelona is anticipated to once again participate in the free agency market.
According to SPORT, Firmino is eager to sign with the Blaugrana, and his presence will relieve Robert Lewandowski of some of the goal-scoring pressure. In 34 games this season, the Brazilian has scored 12 goals and provided five assists across all competitions.
After Barcelona won their first La Liga championship since 2019, Xavi, the team’s manager, is looking to bolster his attack. But they did so without a dedicated Lewandowski center-forward replacement.
With victories in the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup, Firmino has a tonne of experience. He has a reputation for being a workhorse, which is perfect for the brand of game Xavi has cultivated at Camp Nou.
