The K-League has sanctioned FC Seoul for $81,500 for filling the stadium with sex dolls.
After the coronavirus postponed its start, the Korean top-flight is back and running. But the matches are being played without any fans in the stadium.
FC Seoul filled the stands with mannequins to offer a sort of atmosphere, trying to fix the emptiness, during Sunday’s match against Gwangju.
“The disciplinary committee decided to take heavy disciplinary action, taking into account the seriousness of the incident caused by the ‘real doll,’ which insulted and hurt female and family fans and prevent similar incidents from happening.” the K-League said in a statement.
FC Seoul has also apologized for the mix-up, naming it an “inexcusable mistake”.
