The club still has to reach an agreement with Manchester United to prolong the loan contract of Alexis Sanchez, confirmed Giuseppe Marotta, chief executive of Inter Milan.
Chile’s international Sanchez spent 2019-20 at San Siro, after struggling to make an impact in his first 18 months with United.
The 31-year-old has also been underwhelmed for Inter this season, but the Nerazzurri are seeming to extend his deal until the end of the elongated Series A campaign.
While discussions with Chelsea on Victor Moses’ fellow loan are ongoing as well, Marotta was frustrated by how talks with United had been panned out.
“This is a great regulatory anomaly that needs to be resolved because we are still dealing with Chelsea and Manchester United today to try to extend their loans,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“It is not a beautiful thing. We are also dealing with Bayern Munich over Ivan Perisic.”
Sanchez had previously impressed with North London rivals Arsenal over a four-and-a-half-year stay. Tottenham Hotspur was linked to a surprise move for him.
