It is confirmed that until at least the end of the season in 2019-20, Manchester United will allow Dean Henderson, Alexis Sanchez, and Chris Smalling to remain with their respective loan clubs.
This season Henderson has excellent on loan at Sheffield United, holding 10 clean sheets in 27 Premier League outings, although Smalling has also inspired Roma.
While injuries restricted the 31-year-old to nine appearances in Series A, Sanchez found it hard to contribute to Inter Milan.
James Cooper, Sky Sports News reporter, said the trio were unlikely to return to Old Trafford until at least the campaign is over. At the end of June the loan deals for all three players are due to expire but with the Premier League and Serie A set to begin in the coming weeks.
“No official decision has been made as yet but it seems more than likely that Dean Henderson, Alexis Sanchez, and Chris Smalling will all get to stay put at Sheffield United, Inter Milan and AS Roma respectively. With a fully fit squad to call upon, [Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer has no real reason to bring them back,” said Cooper.
Between June 19 and June 21, United are due to return to Premier League action away to Tottenham Hotspur.
