BBC reports, Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz will make a move to a team that has not qualified for next season’s Champions League.
This summer the 21-year-old Germany international wants to quit the Bundesliga club and has been linked with Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Havertz finds a club’s long-term strategy just as essential.
Chelsea leads fourth-placed Leicester and fifth-placed Manchester United by one point, being third in the Premier League.
After Manchester City’s European ban was removed on Monday, only the top four will qualify for the Champions League next season.
Havertz, who can also play as a forward, scored 17 goals in 43 games for Leverkusen this season. He still has two years remaining on his deal.
