Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish emphasizes that he is “still human and we are all making mistakes” as he regrets breaching lockout protocols for coronavirus.
When Grealish’s Range Rover smashed into parking cars on Birmingham streets when visiting a friend’s home, he entered the news at the end of March.
Villa talisman admitted that he struggled to serve his responsibilities as a role model for the next generation and opened up about his profound mistake in judgment during an interview with The Guardian.
“I immediately realized I needed to come out and apologize for what I wanted to do; I didn’t want to hide behind a statement from the club,” Grealish said.
“I’m old enough and mature enough to understand I’d gone wrong. I know I’m a footballer but I’m also a human being so we’re all making mistakes so I realized I made an error straight away.”
“I’m also a role model for many people out there, particularly young children who may look up to me.”
“That’s how I’m going to behave in a responsible way because since then I’ve been trying to hold my head down, work hard to do as much charity work as possible.”
