Spanish police have arrested Edwin Congo who is Madrid former Colombian national football team player and former Real Madrid member, for drug trafficking, wrote Marca.
Along with him, nine other people were arrested in a police operation. After interrogation, the 43-year-old was released.
In 1999 the Colombian moved to Real at a then the largest transfer, he walked out of Colombian club Once Caldas, for five million euros and made a transfer history of Colombian football.
Conga failed to impose himself at Real Madrid, later he was loaned to Real Valladolid, where he played 14 times and scored one goal. Valladolid then loaned him to Vitoria Guimaraes and then sold him to Levante where he stayed for four years.
Edwin retired in 2009 but before that, he played for Sporting Gijon and Recreativo de Huelva. In recent years Congo has represented Real Madrid Legends in charity matches.
