Borussia Dortmund boss Lucien Favre acknowledged the game was “very, very strange” behind closed doors, but he was happy to see his team smash rivals Schalke 4-0.
After coronavirus suspension, the first European league to return to football is Bundesliga with the Revierderby between Dortmund and Schalke being the focus of the fixtures scheduled for the weekend.
The football game was not the same without the fans for Favre, but he was delighted to see his team coming back with a victory.
Favre said to, “4-0 Against Schalke-that ’s pretty good.”
“The thing was the squad performed well together, defensively as well, and it was very, very special.”
“You’re shooting at the goal, making a top pass, a goal-and nothing happens. It’s very, very weird. We’re really missing our fans.”
“It was quite a different game than usual. It’s difficult to judge exactly how successful the game was. I thought it wasn’t as committed as expected. The players have been very concentrated on their task.”
