Unai Emery recalls his worst career moment which was Barcelona’s 6-1 win over its PSG side.
In a chat with Granada coach Diego Martinez, critical of Deniz Aytekin, the referee Emery spoke about that game.
The former gaffer of Seville and Arsenal explained, There are many details that can be inspected in that game but he would change the referee starting from the end and that’s all.
Catalan Sport reported, Emery watched the game repeat the other day because he found it while hopping on the channel. He watched it from the 50th minute until the 82nd minute.
Emery said, “We were 3-0 down, we scored to make it 3-1 and we had a one-on-one Cavani hit at the goalkeeper that would have made it 3-2, a clear penalty on Di Maria that wasn’t given and in the 82nd minute, Di Maria fouled Neymar for the goal.”
“That’s when I stopped watching. In that part of the game, I saw one of our major players, who had injury problems during the season, hiding and maybe I’d replace him now (if I could), they’re details, circumstances that escaped you in a game.”
“Then there are other key circumstances-the players in Barcelona, especially Suarez, going down in the box continuously, pressing on the players”, Emery ended.
