A report released by the organization that represents the states, Reuters states, the new coronavirus pandemic is expected to cost Europe’s top-flight football clubs about 4 billion euros in lost income.
Next season the greatest defeat will be experienced even though they are played in full, indicates the European Club Association (ECA)’s study.
“So far as we can see today, the financial effect of COVID-19 on European clubs is still a profound surprise, particularly with certain tournaments being up and running again,” ECA chief executive Charlie Marshall said.
“When the game continues the financial impact doesn’t end. But it will proceed into the next season and we need to take long-term steps to build a more competitive football industry.”
