Dwight Yorke suggests keeping Manchester United star. According to Manchester United veteran Dwight Yorke, selling David de Gea would be a disaster for the Red Devils. He has pushed Erik Ten Hag not to sign David Raya because he thinks the Spaniard is still among the greatest in the world.
De Gea has not yet formally renewed his contract at Old Trafford, but reports indicate that he has. However, according to certain rumors, Ten Hag is looking for a new shot-stopper and has his eye on a few Premier League players.
Yorke asserted in a statement to King Casino Bonus that he would not trade the Manchester United custodian for anyone in the entire world.
He stated: “Even with the recent errors he’s made, I haven’t seen any fantastic goalkeepers who are significantly better than David de Gea, so I wouldn’t switch him for anyone right now. There aren’t many goalkeepers in the world, in my opinion, who are better than De Gea.”
He also added: “Is De Gea superior to David Raya? In my opinion, no. Manchester United will be seeking a player who is both a superior player and a character who can handle the transition to playing for Manchester United. Dean Henderson might be able to pull it off, but I’m not so sure.”
Dean Henderson is on loan at Nottingham Forest and is said to be leaving Old Trafford permanently.
Erik Ten Hag is still supporting Manchester United star:
Although David de Gea’s contract has come up for renewal, Manchester United supporters have been clamoring for his release. The Spaniard is a favorite of the manager, Erik ten Hag, who has supported him to succeed.
After the defeat to West Ham United, in which De Gea’s error cost them three points, the Red Devils boss made the following comments to the media via Sky Sports: “Without him, we would not be in this situation since he has the most clean sheets in the league. He has my whole trust. No issues at all. It does occur, but as a team, you must handle it, display character, be resilient, and recover. He should remain and have his contract renewed, please.”
He added: “De Gea is not the best with the ball at his feet, thus some have suggested that he does not match Ten Hag’s style of play, but the Dutchman insists that he is a complete goalkeeper.”
Gea was rumored to be returning to Spain, but the top three La Liga teams, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid, are not in the market for a new goalie.
