Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has made a commitment to stay at Stamford Bridge.
The 24-year-old struggled for regular action with the Blues, during Maurizio Sarri’s time as head coach, and was consistently linked with a move away from the club.
Denmark international made 23 appearances being normal in all competitions and starting 10 of the club’s last 11 Premier League matches, under the coaching of Frank Lampard.
His current contract will expire in the summer of 2022, before saying he would be open to extending it, Christensen blazoned his “heart” for the London club.
“I’ve never looked anywhere else,” Christensen told Sky Sports News. “I’ve never doubted my situation. I’ve always had my eyes at Chelsea.”
“I’ve had my contract and I’ve always expected to finish that and I’ve always dreamed of even more than that. Nothing has changed. Obviously it was a different situation last season but I still love being here, that’s the short answer.”
As Chelsea endured a 3-2 loss Wednesday night at West Ham United in the Premier League, Christensen played the entire 90 minutes.
