With both N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic injured, Chelsea will be short of midfield options for the Premier League match at Crystal Palace on Tuesday, Manager Frank Lampard told reporters Monday.
“Kante’s not going to be in the team. He hurt his hamstring, it is a low-level hamstring injury, perhaps he needs a week before returning,” Lampard told reporters in a virtual news conference.
“Kovacic has practiced with us but would not be able to do so. Tomori Fikayo had a setback, hopefully, he’s back next week.”
Two points ahead of Manchester United, Chelsea is fourth in the table with 57 points out of 33 matches and one point behind Leicester City in the top four finish battle.
