If the 2019-20 campaign is allowed to resume, the club will look at extending the deals of Olivier Giroud, Pedro, and Willian, confirmed Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.
Over the past few weeks, the trio has been consistently linked with moves away from the club, and at the end of June, all three players will be out of the contract.
Lampard said that if the campaign restarts, he ‘d want Giroud, Pedro, and Willian on board, the trio was on the scoresheet in Chelsea’s last match-a 4-0 win over Everton.
Lampard told Sky Sports News, “We have big players [out of contract] so that’s something I’m obviously looking at very carefully.”
“It’s still uncertain if and when the play will get underway. The ones that are out of contract here have been great club servants, and in fact have a lot of club feeling.”
“Of course they’re going to be concerned about themselves, about how training is now and if the pre-season is a rush they’re going to have to make sure they’re okay.”
“So it will have to be something that we need to look at, hopefully, we can make that arrangement so they can stay with us. I ‘d love to look at the squad as it has all season, but we’re going to have to see how it works.”
Chelsea is currently fourth in the Premier League table with nine games left, three points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United.
