Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, pointing out that there is a very different attitude in the United States, has proved his passion for golf, where NBA Superstar Stephen Curry can be found on the course in the morning before games.
Bale has reacted to his critics on The Erik Anders Lang Show and has tried to defend himself from allegations that he is more concerned with his handicap than with his on-field footballing exploits.
“Many people have trouble with me playing golf,” he said. “I don’t know exactly why. I’ve talked about it many times and everybody thinks it’s okay, but there’s that perception especially in the media that I should rest, that it can lead to injury.”
The former Southampton and Tottenham man added: “I see people in America, for instance Stephen Curry, playing the game on the same morning. If I’m practicing two days before the game here it’s like: ’What are you doing? ’”
In Real Madrid’s 2018 Champions League Bale came from the bench to score a double in the final victory over Liverpool. He had a difficult campaign in Spain, where he suffered a number of troubling injury problems.
