Teenage striker Gabriel Martinelli has engaged in a new long term deal with Arsenal.
Last July the 19-year-old joined Ituano’s London club and in his first season in England, he has scored 10 goals in 26 games.
Fellow teenager Bukayo Saka dedicated his future to the Premier League team Two days after, and Arsenal has rewarded the Brazil Under-23 international with a new contract.
This season Martinelli won’t play again after having knee surgery, but Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta thinks he has a bright future.
Arteta said: “I’m very happy Gabi signed a new deal with us.”
“He’s a very talented young player and his performances, attitude and work-rate amazed us.”
“We look forward to having him back into full fitness and seeing his progress in our club.”
Martinelli posted on Instagram: “I am very pleased to be committing my future to this great club and I want to thank Arsenal and all the fans for this fantastic year.”
“It’s the first of many and I can’t wait to be back in the fun seasons ahead to play a role!”
